The Ancra 3m J Hook Wheel Restraint is a 50mm polyester ratchet tie-down designed to secure a vehicle on a car-carrying trailer by the tyre rather than the chassis, which is the preferred restraint method for most modern cars. Tying down by the wheel keeps the vehicle's suspension free to absorb road bumps, which protects the chassis from the stress of being pulled tight against the trailer deck and reduces wear on suspension components during transport. The strap wraps the length of the tyre, anchors at both ends, and tensions via a heavy-duty ratchet buckle with J-hook end fittings that engage trailer-deck anchor points. Manufactured from tightly woven blue polyester webbing for strong, low-stretch grip on the tyre, with a 2,500kg lashing capacity sized for passenger vehicles and light commercials.
