The Iveco Eurocargo range starts at a lightweight 7 tonnes GVW and goes all the way to 18 tonnes. The Eurocargo is still often referred to as the Iveco Cargo or even the Iveco Ford Cargo, even though the union between the two companies was finished back in 2002.

Iveco Eurocargo Euro 6 Model at the CV Show

    The Model Number Explained

Many truck buyers and sellers refer to the Euro cargo as the model number - an Iveco 75E18 for example. This refers to the GVW (75 is 7.5 tonnes) and the engine output in BHP (180 in this case.) There are no fewer than nine weight variants of the Eurocargo with six different engine outputs from 160 to 300hp.

    Massive Choice of Variants

There could be any one of 13 different gearboxes fitted to the Eurocargo - three are fully automatic, three are automated and seven are manual. The Euro cargo is available in three cab guises - Eurocargo Day cab, Sleeper cab and the seven seater Eurocargo crew cab. Consider the choice of wheelbases and roof heights and you can understand why there are a possible 11,000 different variants of the Iveco Eurocargo.

The Iveco Tector 4 (4 cylinder 3.9 litre) and Iveco Tector 6 (6 cylinder 5.8 litre) engines used in the Eurocargo are all rated at Euro 5 and EEV emissions standards - Iveco were the first company to make the EEV standard across the range. The models are the Eurocargo 65E16, the 75E16 or 75E18 The Eurocargo 80E18 or 6-pot 80E22 (Tector 6) comes with the crewcab.

The ten tonne Eurocargo can be chosen with either the four-cylinder Tector 4 engine - the 100E18, or choose instead the bigger, 6-litre Tector 6 labelled the Eurocargo 100E22. At 12 tonnes GVW there is a choice of four engine outputs the 4-pot 120E18 or the Tector 6 rated at 220, 250 or 280HP. The 14-tonne Eurocargo, for example the 140E18 has the same four engine rating options as the lesser 12-tonner. Whilst the 15-tonner gets an additional option - a 300PS Tector 6 engine in the 150E30.

The same five engine ranges are available at 16 tonnes GVW with the Eurocargo 160E18 through to the 160E30, whilst the 18 tonner does away with the four-cylinder Tector 4 as an option and is available as a 250, 280 and 300PS truck the Eurocargo 180E28 being the most popular.
