    M2000M from MAN

The M2000 range was MAN Truck’s middleweight truck from 1992 until it was replaced by the TGM in 2005. At this time, MAN were renowned for solid engineering with bulletproof engines. Not the prettiest or modern of truck ranges, but a firm favourite with the tipper operators looking for a truck that would run and run.

As you would expect, many of these trucks have been worked hard over their lifetime, so make sure you inspect any used example closely and check the maintenance of the M2000.

The M2000 range was a popular distribution truck, as well as a 26 tonne tipper – the lighter cabbed M2000L was often used in the petroleum tanker business where payloads are a premium.

    MAN M2000 Model Confusion

Starting at just 12 tonnes GVW, the M2000 is the bigger brother to MAN’s L2000 which only goes to 10.5 tonnes GVW.

It is confusing however, as the M2000 has two types of cab – the M2000L and the M2000M. The former is simply a L2000 cab on a heavier weight chassis, whilst the latter is a heavier F2000 cab on a lighter chassis. The M2000L spanned a weight range from 12 to 26 tonnes, whilst the M2000M spanned from 12 to 25 tonnes GVW. For a 32 tonne 8x4 it had to be an F2000 series truck.

The M2000 range changed its name shortly after the change in millennium – to the ME – the ‘2000’ being a little outdated by then.
