Case started in 1842 by building threshing machines and it was only in 1999 that the company was incorporated into CNH Global which is part of Fiat. The CHN grouping also includes New Holland and part of Kobelco construction machinery as well as agricultural machinery brands Steyr and International Harvester (IH).
Read More (Case)The CNH group has 37 production facilities throughout Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia and its products are sold and supported in 170 countries worldwide by a network of more than 11,300 dealers. However construction equipment only accounts for around one fifth of CNH’s $18.1 billion (£11,6bn) revenues.
OverviewCase produces a broad portfolio of construction equipment products including skid steer, tracked and wheel loaders, dozers, wheeled, mini and crawler excavators, backhoes and telehandlers. It also builds motor graders, rollers and rough-terrain forklifts and in some countries it markets Case-branded articulated dump trucks (ADTs) produced by its Fiat-owned sister company Astra.
The Case has one of the wider ranges of excavators from the 70 tonne CX700 down to the 1.5 tonne CX15 and these have enjoyed a reasonable reputation in Europe while in the US the brand has a very enthusiastic following. Recently Case set up a special products division in France to engineer specialist conversions on its excavators for waste handling and long reach work.
