FreshLinc, Facing Increased Demand For Chilled Food, Relies On Custom-Built Schmitz Cargobull Trailers

Temperature-controlled distribution specialist FreshLinc of Lincolnshire is using 10 new Schmitz Cargobull reefer trailers to transport chilled food in response to increased demand. Originally custom-built to haul fresh flowers from the Netherlands, the trailers are the result of a collaboration between the two companies and feature Hydraroll Trailerloda rollerbed systems designed to load and unload air cargo containers quickly and safely. FreshLinc is a long-time customer and of its 1,000 trailers, 500 come from Schmitz Cargobull.

    Versatility When It Counts

“The rollerbed floors were originally specified with airfreight containers in mind, but they are completely versatile and these trailers are currently being used to support our food distribution efforts,” says Andy Marchant, fleet engineer for FreshLinc. “As with all Schmitz Cargobull equipment, the trailers are robust and can be worked hard without issue. The flexibility is a real bonus and in the future they will be used for their original purpose to maximum effect.”
