Dougie Borland, a 12-year Autosmart franchisee based in Scotland, recently purchased his first new vehicle, a 7.5-tonne (8.25-U.S.-ton) Isuzu N75.150 rigid truck. It features a Euro 6 engine and an Easyshift automatic gearbox, another first for Borland that he says provides a “smooth” ride and makes the vehicle “a pleasure to drive.” He is also betting on longevity with his Isuzu, estimating that it will cover around 19,000 kilometres (12,000 miles) per year for eight years.

    Special Bodywork

Outfitted with a 5.5-metre (18-foot) showroom body from Drumack Coachbuilders, Borland will use the truck to distribute cleaning products and accessories for workshops, vehicles, and more to customers in East Kilbride and the surrounding area. The body can carry more than 200 products, all of which are also on display for prospective customers, as well as barrels of bulk chemicals.

    “Complete Peace Of Mind”

“Proven daily reliability is massive for me, as this is my office and showroom, and it is how I make a living,” says Borland. “Having my retail showroom off the road through unreliability is totally unacceptable so the investment in my first new Isuzu, supported by this three-year warranty, gives me complete peace of mind going forward. It’s clean, modern, and the right image for a company that is specialising in cleaning products. Customers absolutely love it when I turn up in the new Isuzu as, once they get inside, it is clean, well-lit, and spacious, acting as a superb shop window for my products.”
