Jim Murray, managing director of the North West-region Volvo Trucks dealership Thomas Hardie Commercials, is correct when he says 2020 was an unpredictable and challenging year. All the more reason for the company to take pride in being named the Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland’s Dealer of The Year for 2020. The award is one the Liverpool-headquartered firm is well used to, as this is the third straight year Thomas Hardie have won the honor and the fourth time since Volvo Trucks began handing out the award in in 2016.

“We have an incredibly hardworking and dedicated team at Thomas Hardie Commercials, and this award is a credit to every one of them,” says Murray. “All our staff are focused on delivering the best possible customer service and support, and it is fantastic that they are being recognised for that year after year. Winning an award of this magnitude motivates us even more to continue to perform at the highest possible level.”

    Exceptional Performance

Thomas Hardie Commercials began in 1985 with two depots. Today, it operates seven depots (in Deeside, Middlewich, Moorgate, Lancaster, Liverpool, Preston, and Trafford Park) that provide sales, service, parts, and more. The firm also boasts body and paint shop Thomas Hardie Vehicle Solutions in Chorley.

Each year, Volvo Trucks honors the dealer that has demonstrated the highest level of performance in all areas of operation, including especially customer service. Thomas Hardie Commercials stood out last year with its stellar first-time MoT (Ministry of Transport) pass rate across its seven depots, Volvo Trucks says. The dealer also demonstrated exceptional performance in quarterly site audits, in meeting new and used truck sales targets, and with its Volvo Financial Services and aftermarket performance.
