Youngs Transportation & Logistics Kicks Off Rebrand With Addition Of 2 Renault T520 High Tractor Units

Youngs Transportation & Logistics of London recently expanded, acquiring new depots in Warrington and Felixstowe. The haulier has also begun a rebrand, beginning with two new Renault T520 High 6x2 tractors units, which are the first vehicles to display the firm’s new black and yellow livery. The Renault trucks represent another transition for the Youngs fleet, as well, as they are replacing trucks from another marque.

“Along with the expansion and rebrand, things are changing in the fleet too and the Renault trucks are replacements for a competitor model that we’ve used for years,” says Youngs Transportation & Logistics South East Fleet Manager, Andre Jenkins. “Not only was the overall deal more competitive, the Renault trucks, in my opinion look smarter and have a greater presence.”

    New Brand, New Fleet

Youngs Transportation & Logistics added a Renault Range D truck late last year, and the new T520 High 6x2 tractor units will be followed by three T480 Highs and two 26-tonne (28.6-U.S.-ton) T480 rigids. The company indicates the new T520 Highs will be put to work on container and general-haulage duties, moving loads from Essex and Southampton with drivers out four to five nights a week.

The T520 Highs are equipped with tall sleeper cabs to accommodate drivers out on the road. Youngs configured the cabs with a 40-litre (1.4-cubic-foot) fridge, insulated cab curtains, lockers, and a microwave, among other amenities.

“One of our drivers knows Renault Trucks well and is absolutely beside himself to be getting the keys to the T520 High, he absolutely loves the truck,” says Jenkins.

    Range T Options

Renault Range Ts are long-distance trucks available with a wide range of day and sleeper cabs and in 4x2 or 6x2 axle configurations. Customers can configure the Range T with DE 11, DE 13, or DE 13 Turbo Compound engines. All engine options benefit from Renault’s patented Wave Piston technology, improvements to reduce engine friction, and other refinements that collectively help reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 10%.

Visual appeal was a major factor in Youngs Transportation & Logistics’ choice of the T520 tractor units. “We’ve added side skirts and stainless-steel wing mirrors to match the alloy wheels which look great against the striking black truck,” explains Jenkins. “The T Highs look impressive and are the perfect flagship vehicles to showcase in our new branding.”
