Westbus, which has operated from its London headquarters for more than 30 years, recently purchased two IVECO Daily Hi-Matic Euro 6 luxury midicoaches, complete with 25-seat Turas 600s bodies from Brian Noone out of Kildare, Ireland. Westbus tried out a demonstration model before making the decision to select two Daily and Turas combinations, which will each log approximately 50,000 kilometres per year. The coaches come with 3.0-litre F1C diesel engines and have 4,350-millimetre wheelbases with parabolic rear suspensions.

“We are new to this product and the demonstrator proved to us this is the best vehicle on the market to replace our older midicoaches,” said Tim Miles, general manager of Westbus, in a press release. “What really stood out for us was the smoothness of the drive and how quiet it was inside. Our work can vary from airport pickups to corporate events, so it was vital for us to get a luxury vehicle, and the IVECO is exactly that. Passenger comfort is increased by the extra legroom we have got.”

Westbus’s new Daily passenger coaches come with air conditioning, full draw curtains, LED reading lights for each seat, USB ports for device charging, an on-board PA system, reversing camera, and leather recliner seats for maximum passenger comfort. They also sports the Hi-Matic automatic transmission from IVECO, which is the same gearbox you’ll find in vehicles from Maserati and Jeep. It offers faster gear shifting at a pace of less than 200 milliseconds.
Brian Noone, which is supplying the Turas bodies, is a member of the IVECO BUSMASTER programme. The programme gives a seal of approval to bodywork companies that stand up to IVECO’s standards after an audit.
