PACCAR put several alternative energy vehicles on display at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada. Three of those vehicles are zero emissions trucks, including a Peterbilt Model 579EV battery-electric truck, Peterbilt Model 220EV battery-electric, and Kenworth T680 outfitted with a hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrain from Toyota. These models highlight the diversity of electric and fuel cell technologies because the can be used for long-haul operations, local and regional deliveries, and other applications.

    More To See

PACCAR’s booth also features the newest iterations of the company’s driver assistance systems, information about truck platooning technology, a display on in-cab human-machine interfaces, and much more. “PACCAR is investing in the latest technology across its portfolio of industry-leading products and services,” says Kyle Quinn, chief technology officer at PACCAR. “The PACCAR Innovation Center in Silicon Valley, California, enhances the company’s access to emerging technologies and talent from around the world. CES is an outstanding forum to showcase PACCAR’s advanced engineering leadership.”

    A Group Effort

All of PACCAR’s subsidiaries, including Peterbilt, Kenworth, and DAF, are working on next-generation powertrains, and those three in particular are field-testing the foundational technologies you will find in the vehicles displayed at CES 2019. “PACCAR is excited about the opportunity to create the next generation of powertrains that are environmentally-friendly and enhance our customers’ operations,” says Landon Sproull, vice president of PACCAR.

TruckLocator offers a large selection of nearly new DAF trucks for sale, and you will find a handful of used Kenworth models for sale on the site as well.
