The LF is set to become a best seller in the segment - DAF dominate the lighter end of the truck market - and will, no doubt, become market leader as the outgoing model had become.
DAF introduced its 2014 model Euro 6 LF trucks at the Birmingham Truck Show in April 2013. The new Euro 6 LF has a totally new chassis, new drive lines and new interior and exterior designs which emphasise the family resemblance to the new XF.
The new LF range replaces the ageing LF45 and LF55 trucks with a more simplified model naming convention - DAF have lost the 45 and 55 using just the LF and the horsepower to distinguish between vehicles in the range.
The LF still uses the basic cab manufacturered by Renualt Trucks in France - DAF LF shares a cab with the Renault Midlum - albeit with a facelift for Euro 6.
The LF's chassis has been stiffened and redisigned to reduce weight, using a single-wall construction and high quality steel for additional strength.
The new Euro 6 LF comes with 5, 6, 9 or 12-speed manual transmissions as standard, depending on the model.

Their DAF LF Box vans are extremely popular - especially with the ready bodied examples fully type approved, as with the DAF LF Tippers advertised for sale on TruckLocator.
The fresh design and the frugal SCR and EGR engines with a four-cylinder 4.5 litres PX-5 and a straight six cylinder 6.7 litre diesel gives DAF a range of power outputs from 150 to 310hp on the LF range whihc is now available right up to 19 tonnes GVW for operations that require maximum payload for local journeys.
The new 4.5-litre four-cylinder PACCAR PX -5 engine is available in the following ratings for the DAF Euro 6 LF:
