The vast majority of the tractor units sold in the UK by Volvo Trucks will be fitted with sleeper cabs. The top of the range Volvo FH offers the Globetrotter and Globetrotter XL cabs – there is no day-cabbed option.

The modern sleeper-cabbed Volvos are built to a high quality and are feature rich to make the driver’s life more comfortable. With interior heights of up to 2.2 metres, drivers will be able to stand up fully in the top-end high-roof Globetrotters and enjoy creature comforts, such as refrigerators, coffee machines and televisions.
For truck operators who are looking for a smaller day cab tractor unit – usually for high payload operations and it has to be a Volvo truck, they should consider the Volvo FM range. At TruckLocator we call these trucks a 'Tractor unit Without Sleeper'.
Typical uses would be on tanker work, where many will have to conform to petroleum regulations (or ‘pet regs tractor units’,) or bulk tipping work with a tipping trailer. These duty cycles tend to be local and therefore do not require the driver to sleep in the cab overnight. With lighter cabs, these trucks will be able to carry more.
