Mercedes-Benz recently took the opportunity to reassure customers that even while the marque has had to put new policies in place in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and much of the UK is in lockdown, all of its 79 sites are currently open, it is keeping up with “first-pick” parts demand, and it continues to offer 24-hour roadside assistance. The company also recently took measures to have as many employees work from home as it can while also suspending business travel and in-person meetings.
Helping With Vaccine Distribution
Mercedes-Benz also points out that Asset Alliance, a contract hire and leasing specialist, currently has 125 Actros tractor units working for pharmaceutical companies distributing COVID-19 vaccines. Those trucks, along with the many others serving the supermarket, online shopping, and general delivery industries, all have access to Mercedes-Benz’s extended service network. And that also applies to FUSO vehicles.
“We Are Still Here For Them”
“The COVID-secure measures we and our franchised partners have implemented are designed to stem the spread of the virus and provide our teams with safe working environments,” says Wolfgang Theissen, UK managing director of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. “Operators can also be assured that we are still here for them. Whatever their role, be it delivering vaccines, food or home shopping consignments, or any one of the myriad other tasks in which Mercedes-Benz and FUSO trucks are employed, together with our network of Dealers and Authorised Repairers we remain totally committed to keeping our customers moving.”
