SCR Vs EGR That's the big Question for a TGX

Prior to the 2014 Euro 6 models, the MAN TGX came with a choice of engine - the most popular being the D20 - available at Euro 5 with EGR only - meaning no need for Adblue or opt for the EEV version and then SCR is required. The MAN TGX with the 10.5-litre D20 engine running EGR at Euro 5 comes in power ratings of 360 and 400hp - for more power in the MAN TGX, but still with EGR only and no Adblue at Euro 5, customers can opt for the 12.4-litre D26 engine, rated at 440hp. At higher ratings, the 6-cylinder D26 at 480HP and 540HP at Euro 5 uses SCR like most other truckmakers - this means Adblue.

The MAN TGX V8 16-litre MAN D28 V8 provides the top power for the TGX range with a whopping 680hp available at EEV level using SCR. The TGX is available only in tractor unit and drawbar spec - with the exception of a 6x4 rigid - the TGX26.440 6x4 with the D20 engine which is also available at 440hp and the D26 at 480hp.

The Euro 5 MAN TGX is available as a 6x2 tractor unit either with midlift or rear lift options and, of course, available as a 4x2 - available as a tractor unit. Both 4x2 and 6x2 tractor units are only with the D26 engine rated at 440 (EGR), 480 (SCR) and 540hp (SCR).
