Drainfast Gives Daf LF 180 Fleet New Livery To Celebrate 20th Anniversary

“We were looking at a new campaign to celebrate our two decades in business and decided that our fleet of Dafs is the perfect billboard for the company,” says Drainfast Marketing Manager Mark Chambers. (Photo courtesy of Daf.)

Drainfast’s fleet of 19 Daf LF 180s were recently fitted with new vinyl wrap to the celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary. The plastic drainage equipment supplier selected a red and black livery that showcases Drainfast’s logo on the front and side of each truck’s cab.

“We’ve had a lot of interest in our trucks since we applied the wrap,” says Drainfast Marketing Manager Mark Chambers. “We were looking at a new campaign to celebrate our two decades in business and decided that our fleet of Dafs are the perfect billboard for the company. There’s been a lot of people commenting on how much they like the design and how smart the trucks look, which is great.”

    Designed For Distribution

The Daf LF 180s in Drainfast’s delivery fleet have lightweight cages, rather than box bodies, to transport the predominantly plastic parts produced by Drainfast. The custom cages were designed specifically to fit the LF 180 chassis and can be opened from the side or the rear, which makes it easier for operators to load and unload Drainfast’s 6-metre (19.7-foot) pipework. Fuel efficiency for the lightweight Daf LF 180 fleet averages around 33.8 kilometres per gallon (21 mpg) for local delivery routes, according to Drainfast.

The Daf LFs have played a pivotal role in the success of the operator’s next-day delivery guarantee. In addition to the new livery on its Daf trucks, four brand-new LF 180s were recently delivered to Drainfast, affording the firm the flexibility to move some of its older vehicles to a reserve pool.

    Daf LF Details

Engine options include PACCAR PX-4, PX-5, and PX-7 156- to 325-horsepower (115- to 239-kilowatt) engines. The LF 180, Drainfast’s favourite, has a PX-5 engine delivering 184 HP (135 kW).
