With the addition of a new Isuzu Grafter N35.125 arboriculture tipper truck, Ipswich-based Elite Tree Services tree surgeons can carry all the equipment needed to complete the job. Norfolk Trucks custom-built the arb tipper body to house a full-length toolbox down one side, within the body, while a cab-mounted toolbox provides easy external access to ropes, road signs, and other small equipment. A third toolbox for storing heavy chains is mounted underneath the body.

Elite Tree Services’ new Isuzu Grafter N35.125 is capable of towing either a chipper or a trailer with a stump grinder, and the box body’s completely enclosed design helps prevent stray chippings or debris from flying out during roadside work. “Having the right kind of specialist equipment is important for the tree surgeons, says Paul Thomas, director, Elite Tree Services. “This Isuzu Grafter really is a jack of all trades as it gives us complete self-sufficiency on so many of our jobs, irrespective of whether it’s a two- or three-man requirement.”
A Long-Term Solution
Elite Tree Services has been using Isuzu Trucks since 2006, and Thomas believes the newest member of its fleet should have a long service life. “As most of our work is local to the Ipswich area, the vehicle will probably only cover somewhere in the region of 10,000 kilometres per annum, so it could be in our fleet for anywhere from 5 to 10 years.”

The base Isuzu Grafter N35.125 is a 4x2 rigid chassis cab with a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kilograms (7,716 pounds) and a maximum trailer weight of 3,500 kilograms as well. The Grafter Green 4x2 chassis cab rigids are available in both single and twin rear-wheel configurations.
