SDC Trailers Outfits Lincolnshire-Based FreshLinc Group With New Freespan Curtainsiders
Lincolnshire-based FreshLinc Group recently added 30 new SDC Trailers Freespan Curtainsider EN 12642 XL trailers to its FLX Logistics general haulage division located in Carrington, Manchester. The acquisition pushes the group’s fleet to more than 400 vehicles and 1,000-plus trailers nationwide. FreshLinc specialises in the total supply chain management of temperature-controlled fresh, chilled, and horticultural products and claims to be the U.K. and Europe’s leading service provider to retailers, food manufacturers, growers, and importers; SDC Trailers says it’s the U.K. and Ireland’s leading trailer manufacturer.
Providing Peace Of Mind
Established in 1978, the Toomebridge, County Antrim,-based SDC Trailers also manufactures Boxvan, Platform, Skeletal, Machine Carrier, and Drawbar ranges of bespoke trailers. FLX Logistics’ new trailers are equipped with BPW Eco-Plus axles, a Haldex generation three braking system, LED lighting, SDC’s easy-access coupling box, and a full-width rear compression buffer for extra protection when reversing into loading bays.
FLX Logistics Fleet Engineer Andy Marchant says the Curtainsiders will empower the division to expand its general haulage operation across the U.K. “We worked closely with SDC to come up with a trailer specification that will really benefit our operation and give our customers peace of mind for the security of their product,” he says.
