Iveco Unveils The 1st Road-Ready eDaily With Integrated Dynamic & Static Wireless Charging

An Iveco eDaily electric van equipped with integrated wireless charging is parked at the side of the A35 motorway.

A new step toward the future of mobility is taking shape along the A35 Brebemi with the eDaily taking center stage as the first road-ready vehicle equipped for integrated wireless charging - both dynamic (DWPT – Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer) and static - marking a new step toward the future of mobility. This technological advancement demonstrates the growing maturity and feasibility of inductive charging, opening new scenarios for sustainable transport and accelerating the transition to electrification.

The Italian motorway concessionaire connecting Brescia and Milan, part of Aleatica group and internationally recognised for its pioneering projects in sustainable mobility, announces the addition to its Argentea fleet of a new zero-emission eDaily - the iconic IVECO light commercial vehicle in its full electric version - in the 42C Crew Van version featuring a 6-seat cab, making it ideal for Brebemi personnel operations, and delivered through a 36-month GATE leasing formula. This unit stands apart from standard-production eDaily vehicles thanks to the integration of an inductive charging system specifically developed to interface with Brebemi’s dedicated infrastructure.

The eDaily represents an important milestone in a journey that Brebemi began several years ago with Arena del Futuro, continued through the start-up VoltAtire. This open-air laboratory has attracted the interest of manufacturers, industrial operators, and institutions, establishing Brebemi as an international reference point for wireless charging technologies. In recent months, global interest in DWPT has grown further around the world. France inaugurated the world’s first highway section with dynamic wireless charging, while the United States - most recently in Florida - has launched advanced public road tests for inductive charging of electric vehicles. These initiatives demonstrate how the technology is evolving from the experimental phase to a potential structural solution for the transport infrastructure of the future.

In this context, IVECO’s decision to test a production-ready vehicle equipped for wireless charging sends a strong message: it not only validates the path taken so far, but also highlights how collaboration between infrastructure operators and manufacturers is becoming increasingly strategic to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies.

“After nearly a year of testing wireless charging in both static and dynamic modes on the equipped ring at the A35 Brebemi 'Arena del Futuro' site - with highly positive results - we seized the opportunity to prepare a new eDaily equipped with the DWPT system. Our ambitious goal is to extend static charging functionality to compatible public sites,” commented Marco Aimo-Boot, Vehicle Electrification – T&D Innovation & Advanced Engineering, Iveco Group.

“The development of this solution within our technology portfolio represents a concrete step forward on our decarbonization path. Testing DWPT directly on the highway further demonstrates how dynamic charging can effectively support daily operational needs, ensuring safety, performance, and service continuity for drivers and operators. Our project with A35 Brebemi opens new perspectives for electrification in the sector and reaffirms IVECO’s determination to lead innovation on the road, where the mobility of the future takes shape.” Norberto Codegone, Head of LCV Product Management, IVECO.
