DAF recently launched a new Ultimate Package for CF and XF trucks with PACCAR MX-11 or MX-13 engines. As the name suggests, this package enhances nearly every aspect of the truck, from driver comfort to fuel efficiency, safety, and support. Some comfort-related upgrades include automatic climate control and a power supply dedicated to running various accessories, including a microwave, refrigerator, television, parking cooler, and more. These add-ons serve to improve cabs that DAF says are already “unequalled in terms of comfort.”

    Improved Uptime & Efficiency

A few other upgrades included with the Ultimate Package is a Battery Energy Management system that keeps track of battery health and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring system that ensures tyres are always at the proper air level. Another example is predictive cruise control, which DAF says can look as far as 2 kilometres up the road and “make maximum use of the truck’s kinetic energy,” improving fuel efficiency by as much as 4%. CFs and XFs can also run on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and other alternative fuels for further efficiency gains. Coupled with DAF’s driver training program, vehicle health monitoring, and other technologies, the Ultimate Package helps drivers and fleet managers alike get the most out of their trucks.

    Safety & Support

DAF prioritises safety with all of its vehicles, but the Ultimate Package goes the extra mile by adding brighter LED headlights and rear lights that complement the existing daytime running lights. While these features help to enhance visibility, other technologies, including advanced emergency braking, round out the safety suite of the CF and XF.

While all of these optional features give fleet managers and operators added peace of mind and control over their vehicles, there will still be times when they need support from DAF. Enter DAF Connect, an online fleet management solution available for CFs, LFs, and XFs, and MultiSupport Preventative Maintenance contracts. DAF Connect can offer guidance to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs, and preventative maintenance contracts reduce the risk of breakdowns and unplanned repairs. CFs have the option for a two-year/320,000-kilometre plan while XFs have a three-year/480,000-km option.
