Parsons Nationwide Distribution Rewards Drivers With New Renault T High
The key to keeping good drivers is keeping them happy on the job. Exeter-based Parsons Nationwide Distribution Ltd is doing just that with the latest addition to their fleet, a Renault Trucks T520 High 6x2 pusher tractor unit. The new truck is the first T High for the company, which runs a 59-strong mixed fleet performing bulk tipper work across the U.K.
The T High suits the work the company does and came highly recommended, says Dale Worsley, transport manager at Parsons Nationwide Distribution.
“Keeping our driver happy was a major consideration in choosing the new vehicle and the spacious cab and optional extras we’ve specified ensure the driver has everything he needs to be comfortable out on the road,” Worsley says. “The truck’s high specification and spacious living area outshone everything, and we are delighted to add this new vehicle to our fleet.”
About The Renault T520 High
The 13-litre T520 High has a DE13 turbo compound engine, a maximum torque of 2550Nm, and a Renault’s Optidriver AT2612F gearbox with automated clutch. Parsons also added walking floor/bulk tip equipment, front air suspension, Alcoa Dura-Bright aluminium wheels, and fixed roof and side deflectors. Inside the T520’s spacious cab, drivers benefit from air conditioning, a 40L refrigerator, heated and ventilated seats, a leather steering wheel, and insulated cab curtains.
The T High cab offers two lower bunk options. The Extensia bunk is 2,009 mm long and 680 mm wide with the option to extend the width by 120 mm. It has a 120mm thick mattress with the option to upgrade to a memory foam mattress.
The Sérénité bed is 2018 mm long and 671 mm wide behind the seats and 791 mm wide in the centre. The bed contains twice the number of springs and a thicker mattress, which you can separate from the base to fit with a sheet. An optional memory foam mattress is available for the Sérénité as well.
Safety First
The T High also includes safety features such as driver fatigue detection and lane departure warning systems. Drivers also have increased visibility with radars and cameras located around the truck.
The Automatic Emergency Braking System warns drivers of a possible collision and brakes if the driver does not act. The Hill Start Assist assists trucks in starting on hills. It manages braking to make it easier to move forwards and prevents the truck from rolling back.
