Launched in 2012, but not on UK roads in any numbers until 2014, DAF have simplified the description of their top cab. Gone is the 95 or 105 description and we are simply left with the XF.  Finally taking over from the XF105 in January 2014, the Euro 6 XF is a modern-looking truck which will compete well against the competition.  Available as a Space Cab or Super Space cab, the XF cab appears roomier than the outgoing XF105.

    DAF XF Euro 6 Range

Powered by PACCAR's MX13 13-litre engine, rated at 410, 460 and 510bhp it does not compete with the Swedish top powered trucks, but makes a very economical choice for a UK operator.  Available in a low-ride 4x2 version, ideally suited to continental high-volume operations.

Choose from DAF tractor units or rigids with 4x2, 6x2 or 6x4 axle configuration.  We have specialised pages for the DAF XF95 and the DAF XF105 to look at the older tractor units.

After the initial launch, DAF has brought out some additional variants, including a low-ride option for overheight trailer operation in Europe with a fifth wheel height of just 91 centimetres.

Also shown for the first time is the new leather interior, which sees DAF attempting to wrestle the quality interior crown from the Swedes and the Germans.

Predictive cruise control, available as an option from the start of 2015 saw DAF follow Mercedes and Scania down the path of increasing comuter control of the driving of the truck.  The DAF system uses GPS to look about two kilometres ahead and is able to drive optimally within the parameters set by the driver, including up and down shifting.
