Volvo Reveals 25 Year Special Edition In The FH Line

Volvo Trucks is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its FH series of trucks with the new Volvo FH 25 Year Special Edition. The new truck incorporates the modern comforts of newer models combined with the unique interior and exterior style that the original FH models are known for. Nearly 1 million FH series trucks have been sold since the first models were released in 1993, and this new truck, which is available as a standard FH or FH16 , shows how far this line has come along.

Volvo’s throwback trucks are available in either a Globetrotter high or extra high sleeper cab configuration and with your choice of a Crimson Pearl or Mammoth Tree Metallic paint job, among the company’s other available colours. (Photo courtesy of Volvo.)

"The Volvo FH is the perfect representation of a customer-focused mindset and a model that has been pushing the boundaries for a quarter of a century,” says Claes Nilsson, president of Volvo Trucks. “This magnificent edition truck is therefore both a tribute to the first 25 years and a starting point for our continued successful journey with customers and drivers.”

    New & Old

The Volvo FH 25 Year Special Edition comes in either classic Mammoth Tree Metallic (a “darker, cool grey tone”) or Crimson Pearl (“shin red”) paint colour, with more modern options also available. The truck also sports shadows, 3D details, and other design elements that harken back to the 1990s. Some specific examples include a Globetrotter sign, special striping, and emblems. The truck is available as either a Globetrotter high sleeper cab or Globetrotter extra high sleeper cab.

On the interior, the new Volvo FH throwback features various orange accents throughout, another retro-inspired design that plays against the more modern features you’d expect in a newer FH. Those features largely focus on the company’s Volvo Dynamic Steering system, which includes features such as Stability Assist to reduce the risk of skidding, Lane Keeping Assist to prevent rollovers and collisions, and Personal Settings to allow drivers to fully customise the steering wheel for optimal comfort.

The new limited-run Volvo FH 25 Year Special Edition will be in production in 2018 and 2019 only, and it will go on sale at the end of the month.
