IVECO Goes 100% Diesel Free At IAA

IVECO, an Italian manufacturer of light, medium, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles is attending the 67th annual IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition in Hanover, Germany from 20 through 27 September. The company’s booth will be a “Low Emission Zone,” designed to highlight IVECO’s current range of electric-, CNG- (compressed natural gas), and LNG-powered (liquid natural gas) offerings.

    A Sustainable Showing

IVECO is using the occasion of this year’s IAA show to make a bold statement about its commitment to seeking out and offering environmentally friendly traction vehicles designed to tackle every task, from passenger transport to long-distance transport and logistics. According to IVECO, opting for a biomethane natural gas-powered commercial vehicle can result in a better than 90% reduction in NO2 emissions, 99% less particulate matter, and a 95% reduction in CO2.

IVECO is partnering with Shell to promote the de-carbonisation of the transport industry through the use of advanced technology and alternative fuels. In addition to exhibiting its green-minded machines on the show floor, IVECO plans to host a number of workshops that seek to further the goal of transitioning towards a sustainable future and achieving a circular economy with regard to alternative fuel production and consumption.

According to Pierre Lahutte, IVECO Brand President, “Visitors to the exhibition will discover a stand full of alternative traction vehicles, developed with customers and body builder partners, covering every mission—and not a single diesel engine in sight!”

Some examples of the vehicles that visitors will get a chance to see at the show include HEULIEZ BUS’s GX Series electric 2-door Bus Rapid Transit system, the electric IVECO BUS Crealis, and IVECO’s zero-emission Daily Electric Minibus.
