Volvo Trucks Make An Impact For CCS

Gothenburg, Sweden-based Volvo Trucks, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of long-haul and off-highway vehicles, has supplied two new trucks to Central Chemical Supplies Ltd., a Northern Ireland-based independent chemical trader. The company operates in the food and pharmaceutical markets and produces chemicals used in detergents, paints, printing, water treatment, personal care, adhesives, and more.

    New Hardware, New Opportunities

Dennison Commercials Ltd., CCS’s preferred local Volvo dealer, provided the company with a Volvo FH-500 6x2 Globetrotter with blowing equipment, which is a 13-litre tractor unit that will help the chemical manufacturer and distributor meet the demands of customers throughout Ireland and the UK. This truck features a comfortable cab equipped with leather seats and a touchscreen media pack. The FH-500 also ships with a fuel economy pack that will help the company lower its operating costs.

The second truck purchased by CCS is the Volvo FM-370 6x2 rigid curtainsider, which is ideally suited to the company’s regional and long-haul transportation and logistics workloads. This truck is outfitted with an 11-litre 370 horsepower engine. Other standout features of this tractor unit include Volvo’s Dynamic Steering for improved stability even at high speeds, an I-Shift fuel-saving gearbox, and a variety of day cab/sleeper cab options to suit a range of uses.

A Lot Riding On The New Trucks

According to Desmond Savage, Managing Director of CCS, the company has been growing in recent years, and there’s a lot expected of the new equipment. “We are hoping that our investment of the new Volvos will help us meet the increasing needs of the business and allow us to maintain our reputation of being an excellent service provider.”

There are hundreds of used Volvo trucks on TruckLocator, with many nearly new Volvo FH and Volvo FM models. These include used Volvo FH500s and used Volvo FM370s.
