Renault Trucks recently highlighted some of the new features coming to its 2020 lineup of T and T High tractor units, with an emphasis on fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and operator comfort. Part of the company’s Long Haul range, the T and T High trucks come standard with either a DTI 11 or a DTI 13 Euro 6 Step D engine, both of which have “a 3% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared with the previous generation,” says Renault. Lighter-weight disc brakes and a high-efficiency axle also improve efficiency across the range.

Renault Range T models are available with DTI 11 engines ranging from 380 to 460 horsepower (283 to 343 kilowatts) or DTI 13 engines that produce between 440 and 520 horsepower (328 to 388 kilowatts), while T High models are only available with the DTI 13 engine range. All DTI engines can also run on biodiesel or XTL synthetic fuel.

    Interior & Exterior Features

The T-series offers several cab configurations to choose from, including a standard-roof day cab, standard-roof night and day cab with a bunk, or high-roof sleeper cab, while the T High comes with a high-roof sleeper cab and a flat floor as standard. Renault updated the cabs on both models with what it describes as “top-of-the-range finishes,” such as a leather steering wheel, all-textile seats, and two armrests on the driver’s seat in addition to metal doorsills, aluminium handles, and a carbon-coloured dashboard. Customers have the option to customise the exterior of these trucks with orange or glossy black grilles and wing mirrors.

To improve driver comfort while driving and resting, Renault not only added an adjustable steering column as standard for 2020, but also added new storage compartments that add 221 litres (7.8 cubic feet) of extra space and the option to add Roadpad+. Renault refers to Roadpad+ as an “on-board assistant” that allows drivers to operate their smartphones hands-free, listen to music, improve visibility by viewing feeds from side and rear cameras, and access satellite navigation.
