Warburtons produces more than two million fresh bakery products daily, some of which will now be delivered by a fresh trio of Renault Range T430 4x2 tractor units. Renault expects the Range Ts to travel around 175,000 kilometres per year, hauling Warburtons’ Gray & Adams insulated trailer fleet—half of which are double-deck trailers that keep baked goods at a warm 22 degrees to maintain maximum freshness.

    Why Select The Range T

Warburtons is assigning the new Range T tractor units to its primary trucking fleet operating out of the Enfield bakery. The decision to go with Renault trucks was based on driver experience during a lengthy evaluation. “We trialled a Range T demonstrator supplied by local dealer JDS Truck and Van at our Bolton bakery and feedback from our drivers was very positive,” explains Warburtons National Transport Manager Steven Gray. “As part of this process we ran our own TCO evaluation models, and the Range T was very competitive economically.”

The new Range T430s were carefully selected for driver comfort, as Warburtons added air-suspended driver and passenger seats and Ultimate leather steering wheels to the sleeper cab trucks. The Warburtons’ Range T430s are also decked out in the company’s distinctive orange livery, an easy way for customers to identify Warburtons as the baked goods are delivered across South East cities in the UK.

    The Renault T Range

Designed for long-haul duties, Renault’s 2020 Range T series trucks are fitted with either a DTI 11 or DTI 13 Euro 6 Step D engine offering a 3% reduction in fuel consumption and C02 emissions over the previous generation. Warburtons’ new trucks, for example, feature Renault Trucks’ efficient 11-litre straight-six DTi engines, producing 424 horsepower (316 kilowatts) and Optidriver 12-speed automated gearboxes.

The 2020 Range Ts also feature a new high-efficiency axle and lighter disc brakes, further reducing fuel consumption. To better support drivers, the sleeper cab is equipped with rear cab overhead compartments that offer 221 litres of storage capacity, with three illuminated 36-cm-high lockers with sliding curtain closures.

You will find a large selection of new and used Renault trucks for sale on TruckLocator, including a number of Renault Range T models.
