As part of BS Trailer Services’ ongoing fleet replacement program, the leasing and hiring company recently placed a £2 million order with semi-trailer manufacturer SDC. The order includes SDC’s EN-XL- rated Freespan straight-frame Curtainsiders in various overall heights to suit BS Trailer’s bespoke specifications, as well as Double Deck Curtainsiders featuring a Pallet Network specification with fuel-saving roof, steel mesh second decks, and wrap-around rear curtains.
Why SDC Trailers?
“We have worked with SDC trailers for over 20 years, and they offer an extremely high-quality product with the added value of a bespoke specification to suit our requirements,” says BS Trailers Managing Director, Oliver Moore. “We opted for the Freespan Curtainsider model with clear aperture and easy-roll curtain-rail technology for enhanced efficiency, safety, and productivity.” BS Trailer Services’ new Curtainsiders will be delivered to the firm throughout 2020, adding to their 2,000-strong trailer fleet.
Get To Know SDC’s Curtainsider Lineup
SDC’s Curtainsider trailers are available in a range of styles. In addition to the Freespan Curtainsiders and Double Deck Curtainsiders purchased by BS Trailers, operators can choose from Extra Length (for increased load capacity), Urban (with fork-truck or tail-lift rear end), Mega (low ride height design), Chipliner (with strengthened curtains), Coilwell (for steel transport), Sliding Body (for trailer deck access), Euroliner (with neck depths from 50mm upwards), and Insuliner (insulated bodywork) models. And with features like the EN-XL-rated galvanized bodywork, stainless-steel coupling boxes, and load restraint options on many models, buyers can work with SDC to design trailers that meet their exact needs. The Freespan Curtainsider, for example, features a low-friction alloy roof-rail and easy-roll technology for simple operation. And SDC’s unique bolt-on body concept relieves stress on critical parts of the trailer, resulting in lower maintenance over time.
