North Lincolnshire-Based Machine Hire Specialist Adds New Montracon MT45 A3 Machine Carrier Trailer
Vertikal UK recently added a new Montracon MT45 A3 machine carrier trailer to its fleet. The Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire-based plant hire firm specialises in cherry pickers, spider lifts, scissor lifts, personnel lifts, telehandlers, and more.
It relies on a dedicated fleet of vehicles and trailers to deliver equipment to customers, and the newest addition is a three-axle version of Montracon’s popular machine carrier. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 45 tonnes (49.6 U.S. tons), the MT45 is more than capable of transporting multiple lifts in a single trip for maximum efficiency.
The MT45 Up Close
There are several MT45 configurations available, including three- and four-axle versions as well as one with a three- and four-axle extender that’s dual-plated at 39,000 and 70,500 kilograms (85,980 and 155,426 pounds) thanks to its lift axle. In addition to a 45-t GTW, the three-axle version features a 1,500-millimetre (59-in.) galvanised neck, a 300-mm (11.8-in.) heavy-duty side rave, and a low-profile loading incline.
The four-axle MT45 has a max GTW of either 39,000 or 48,000 kg (105,822 lbs) and is available with a wide range of options, including ramps, flooring, and a rear steer axle. The aforementioned three- and four-axle extender features an air neck ramp, close-spaced cross members, and the option for one or two rear-steer axles. Montracon also offers a step frame beavertail MT45 as well as one with a curtainside body, which can be spec’d to meet the ENXL standard.
