DAF Trucks has announced that it will take part in the Hillhead Digital multi-stream conference taking place on 30 and 31 March. The digital event, which will also include 50 seminars, covers construction, recycling, and other vocational topics and will feature products and services from more than 500 companies. Registration for the event is free and is open now.
DAF’s Vocational Offerings
DAF’s range of vehicles suitable for vocational applications have gross vehicle weights (GVW) of between 7.5 and 150 tonnes (8.3 and 165 U.S. tons). This includes CFs and XFs with 10.8-litre MX-11 or 12.9-litre MX-13 engines ranging from 370 to 530 horsepower (276 to 395 kilowatts).
The 32-t (35-U.S.-t) FAW 8x4 rear-steer rigid is a prime example. It features a tridem rear axle that includes a steering lift axle as well as a double-drive tandem axle that DAF says gives it “game-changing manoeuvrability for accessing restricted locations on and off road.”
The Dutch manufacturer also has a Ready to Go programme in place that lets customers purchase pre-configured, ready-to-work concrete trucks, hook loaders, scaffold trucks, skip loaders, and tippers. They feature bodywork from Bevans, HYVA, PPG, and Wilcox.
Meeting New Standards
Another benefit of using DAF vocational trucks is that that they stand up to recently implemented regulations in urban centres around the United Kingdom. The Euro 6 engines meet Low Emission Zone and Clean Air Zones in London and other cities, and the trucks as a whole comply with London’s Direct Vision Standard. The company also offers a retrofit programme for customers who wish to equip their vehicles with “DAF-approved Safe System equipment” with the help of specialists.
