IVEVO T-WAY Garners More Accolades, Takes Home iF Design Award

IVECO is going to need to make more room on its trophy shelf, or shelves. In the last six months, the T-WAY alone received the Excellent Product Design award from the German Design Council, a “Product Design” Ret Dot Award, and an iF Design Award in the Heavy Truck: Industrial Design category. The latter is the most recent recognition for the rugged T-WAY, the heavy-duty off-road truck IVECO introduced in 2021 to replace the vocational TRAKKER.

“We are very honoured that the IVECO T-WAY has been selected for this prestigious iF Design Award,” says Marco Armigliato, IVECO Group head of industrial design. “With these awards we see recognised our efforts to combine robustness with efficiency, reliability with driver-centricity, effectively blending function with style.”

    Industrial-Strength Design

The T-WAY is built on a steel chassis to stand up to the rigours of off-road work, and the 10-millimetre (0.39-inch)-thick frame and high-end suspension provide torsional rigidity. IVECO combines the chassis’ robust engineering with an adaptable platform to let bodybuilders quickly adapt it for tipper, mixer, timber transport, gully cleaning, or crane and platform work, and more. The T-WAY is available in both rigid and articulated versions, with the choice of an air or mechanical suspension, and with partial-wheel or all-wheel drive. The partial-wheel-drive T-WAY has a Hi-Traction hydrostatic drive system that automatically provides extra hydraulic front-wheel traction as needed.

    Award-Worthy Tech

The T-WAY features IVECO’s Hi-Mux electronic architecture, providing a convenient control system with bodybuilder interfaces and IVECO technology. For example, IVECO’s Hi-Cruise system is available to increase the efficiency of the transmission, resulting in better fuel consumption and lower emissions. The Hi-Cruise system includes predictive gear shifting, predictive cruise control, and a downhill eco-roll function to take advantage of truck’s inertia.

The T-WAY’s cabin has an updated control layout, with key functions located on the steering wheel for quick accessibility. And with features like a twilight sensor and a rain sensor, drivers enjoy many of the latest automatic assistance features. IVECO also includes a Connectivity Box as standard for telematics, remote fleet monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
