Krone To Showcase Versatile Box Liner Container Carrier At Birmingham’s Multimodal 2022 Trade Show

    Krone will have its versatile Box Liner container carrier sliding-bogie skeletal trailer on hand at the Multimodal 2022 trade show occurring 14 to 16 June at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. The German manufacturer will have team members on stand No. 1020 at the free event, now in its 15th year. Multimodal 2022 brings shippers, retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, and exporters together with freight transport, logistics, and supply chain solution providers. Logistics UK is also sponsoring a series of panel discussions and keynote speeches from industry leaders.


    Closely Monitored

    Based in Werlte, Germany, Krone has a UK team that handles sales, parts, and product support throughout the UK. Krone UK sales team members are closely involved in developing Box Liner trailers, which are designed and constructed in Germany. Box Liner variants can carry single containers from 6.1 to 13.7 metres (20 to 45 feet) in length, dual containers, or a standard-sized tank. Box Liners are available in four colours, and come with a 10-year guarantee against corrosion damage.


    Krone also offers an optional telematics package that remotely monitors tyre pressure, tracks maintenance intervals by recording mileage, detects empty or reduced loads, and can locate a trailer that isn’t where it should be. The solution also monitors brake system status, and can send alerts concerning malfunctions with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) or electronic braking system (EBS).


    The Box Liner

    The Box Liner lineup includes 10 models in universal, flat, specialist with tunnel, and 6.1 m-only configurations. The new ELTU70 model is designed to handle containers of all sizes, including 6.1-m swap body and tank containers. The ELTU50 Traction is one of several Box Liners equipped with a patented traction rear, which Krone says allows for optimised positioning of a 6.1-m container flush at the rear with increased fifth-wheel load. The EL20 is a 6.1 m-only chassis that’s available as a two- or three-axle chassis, both of which include a traction rear.


    Krone also equips its Box Liners with pictograms to help operators adjust for particular container sizes, large bumpers designed for use with ramps, push-button pneumatic rear extensions, and protected taillights.
