Agriculture Haulage Specialist Adds Renault Trucks T520 6x2, Number Plate TS55MOO
Trevor Sandiford Ltd purchased its first Renault truck back in 1984, and the agriculture haulage specialist has returned to the brand several times over the years, purchasing multiple Renault Premium heavy-duty trucks and a 2019 model year T520 6x2 with a flatbed body. A second T520 6x2 recently joined the fleet, and this new truck is equipped with 9.1-metre (30-foot)-long Plowman’s Atlas livestock container. The new truck, which bears number plate TS55MOO, joins a 2019 T520 with number plate TS55COW to showcase the company’s livestock roots.
A Manoeuvrable Workhorse
Operating costs and reliability were at the top of the list for Trevor Sandiford on its new Renault T520. “As with every sector, business is tricky right now, especially with soaring costs,” says co-owner Debbie Sandiford. “Now, more than ever, we needed to ensure that any new vehicles added optimum value to the operation and that the backup and customer service from the dealer is first class.”
The Sandifords also knew the T520 would be able to handle the rugged terrain and sometimes constricted work areas on farms. “The truck is driver-friendly and very easy to manoeuvre, especially getting in and out of tight spots on farmyards,” says Sandiford. “We have absolutely no complaints with the vehicle, it does the job well, has low running costs and good fuel economy which all helps with keeping our operating costs down. We are delighted we made the move to Renault Trucks.”
Range T Options
Renault Range T trucks are long-distance vehicles available with a wide range of day and sleeper cabs and in 4x2 or 6x2 axle configurations. Buyers can configure the Range T with either a DE 11 or DE 13 engine with patented Wave Piston technology, Renault’s new Turbo Compound tech, and other refinements that collectively help reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 10%.
The new T520’s Plowman’s Atlas livestock container has two decks and hydraulic lifting sections to facilitate easier loading in the farmyard. The T520 includes twin roof-mounted air horns, as well as a light bar with spotlights. Driver comfort is prioritised with the cab’s four-point air suspension, heated driver’s seat, and ride-height control system.
