Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks Now Run Microlise SmartFlow With No Extra Hardware
Mercedes-Benz Actros’ Truck App Portal system now has access to a tailored app version of the popular Microlise SmartFlow work management software. From reviewing and accepting assignments to accessing planned arrival or departure times, drivers across the UK can take advantage of SmartFlow on the Multimedia Cockpit touchscreen. Operators need only download the new app on the Truck App Portal.
“As well as being more cost-effective, this development allows users to install the Microlise SmartFlow App a lot more quickly and easily than was previously possible,” says Richard Skidmore, head of customer service delivery at Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK. “By teaming up with Microlise to offer this innovative solution, we have been able to demonstrate once again the wide variety of benefits that our in-cab technology is capable of delivering.”
Easy Integration
Prior to the being available in the Actros’ Truck App Portal, operators had to install a separate in-cab screen dedicated to the Microlise SmartFlow software. Truck App Portal enhances control using the Actros’ touchscreen display, and the app also integrates with the Actros’ satellite navigation system to incorporate SmartFlow’s optimal routing. The tailored Microlise SmartFlow app can also help with Actros driver compliance.
“Drivers are logged into the system automatically when they insert their tacho cards,” says Steve Watson, Microlise director of product. “Journeys are fed through directly to the cab and integrated with sat-nav screens. Administration becomes easier, with instant updating of deliveries, collections, and consignment information. Communication is improved and delivery paperwork reduced, which helps everyone’s working day run more smoothly.”
