Oakland Distribution Acquires 30 Renault T480 Tractor Units
Oakland Distribution Limited, a multi-temperature supply chain specialist, recently added 30 new Renault Trucks T480 6x2 pusher Turbo Compound tractor units to replace older Renault trucks in a major upgrade to its 57-vehicle fleet. The new T480s include a flagship truck with a special livery to mark the 25th anniversary of its parent company, Oakland International. The T480 Turbo Compounds were chosen for their fuel economy and praise from the firm’s drivers. They will operate from Oakland International’s depots in Redditch, Corby, Bardon, and Skelmersdale, performing chilled deliveries to FMCG customers nationwide.

About The Renault T480 Turbo Compound
The T480 Turbo Compound is equipped with the DE13 TC engine, which uses technology to optimise fuel efficiency and provide increased torque for better responsiveness. Renault’s Smart Torque Control furthers fuel savings. The Optivision map-based gear shift strategy for Fuel Eco, which anticipates topography, also contributes to fuel efficiency along with Eco Cruise control with Optiroll.
Radar detection and cameras located around the truck enhance driver visibility in concert with automated headlights and windscreen wipers. Other safety features include Lane Departure Warning, Automated Emergency Braking System, and Driver Fatigue Detection.
A Luxurious Ride
Finished in red, the cab has a new layout with a redesigned dashboard with a 12-inch adjustable main digital display and a multifunction touchscreen to access applications. Renault equips it with air conditioning, a 4-point cab air suspension, a leather steering wheel, a heated and ventilated driver’s seat, an electric interior sun blind, storage compartments, and a memory foam mattress topper. The truck also has an adjustable roof deflector and side deflectors.
The anniversary-edition lorry is set apart with a commemorative lime green livery, polished Alcoa alloy wheels, a LightFix top light bar, and a leather driver’s seat.
