Woodside Logistics Group, a distribution, haulage, and logistics company with more than 50 years of experience serving customers in the UK and Ireland, recently purchased 27 new Volvo FH 460 tractor units. Woodside purchased the trucks from Ireland-based Dennison Commercials and will use them for a variety of applications. Dennison began delivering the trucks this month, and every one arrived in Woodside’s distinct green livery.

    Who Gets What

The group’s Woodside Haulage division will get 23 of the Volvo FH trucks complete with safety packages, refrigerators, TomTom GPS systems, Volvo’s Dynafleet telematics platform, and other features. They are configured with Globetrotter XL cabs to ensure driver comfort during long hauls. The other four trucks will go to Haulage Services Ltd., Woodside Logistics Group’s tanker division. Haulage Services will use these ADR-certified trucks outfitted with Globetrotter cabs and mid-lift axles to haul powder, liquid, and gas.

    Improved Safety

"Our transport and logistics business is based on operational efficiency and the provision of a dependable service for our customers,” says Mark Woodside, director of Woodside Haulage. “It is important that our fleet is reliable and well presented, and that our drivers feel they go to work every day in a quality vehicle, which is why we continue to invest in the Volvo brand. The safety features that we have spec'd undoubtedly help to improve the safety of our own drivers and other road users."

You’ll find hundreds of new and used Volvo trucks for sale every day on TruckLocator.co.uk, including a number of FH 460s .
