McGovern Plant & Volvo FM Sweeper
McGovern Plant Hire has added a Volvo FM sweeper, complete with the company’s brand new livery, to its fleet of commercial vehicles and sweepers. The 4x2 rigid truck sports a Volvo D11K Euro 6 engine that produces up to 330 horsepower, a 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission, and the Globetrotter cab. It also features Volvo’s Alcoa Dura-Bright EVO alloy wheels and Bridgestone tyres. The paint job consists of a bright yellow colour set against a navy background.
"We work all over the UK and the new Volvo has already been in operation at both Heathrow and Gatwick airports,” said John Byde, transport manager at McGovern Plant Hire, in a statement. “There are also sweeper vehicles working on a nationwide basis, including the current Aberdeen Western Perimeter Ring Road project. Our Volvo flagship is a fantastic vehicle and we'll use our local Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London dealerpoint for a service contract. Our business expansion is based on good people and good products like Volvo trucks. Right Truck For The Job
McGovern purchased the truck from Volo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland, but it first went to Stocks Sweepers to add the Quad Vac bodywork. It’s the fourth time the company has used this specific body type, which features a 9.0 cubic metre hopper, 93 kW JCB engine, and XL 800mm suction fan. It also features a 35-point automatic lubrication system and a 200 bar high-pressure water pump. Additional safety features include CCTV system with four cameras, LED work lights, and more.
