R M Hadfield Haulage Orders 14 New Volvo FH-500 6x2s, One Volvo FH-540 8x4

R M Hadfield Haulage, based in Buxton, Derbyshire, recently ordered 14 Volvo FH-500 6x2 Lite tractors from Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd. This will bring the company’s Volvo total up to 20 and its total number of vehicles up to 32. Each FH-500 truck comes with a D13K Euro-6 engine that produces 500 horsepower, I-Shift transmissions, and the Volvo Engine Brake+. The company also added a Volvo FH-540 8x4 recovery truck to the fleet, which will join the company’s two Volvo FM 8x4s.

“We've gone for the FH with the bigger horsepower engine and the larger under-lift gear this time,” says Rob Hadfield, director of R M Hadfield Haulage. “The aim is to expand what we're already doing, with a view to undertaking more heavy recovery work in the future. This level of equipment means we can use the tractors on both our job spheres of tipper and crane work. The 14 new Volvo trucks are ready for anything the beautiful but rugged Derbyshire Dales can ask of them.”

    Other Features

Each of Hadfield’s Volvo FH vehicles has leather interiors, alloy wheels, refrigerators under the bunk, and power take-off (PTO) equipment and hydraulic kits installed by Thomas Hardie Vehicles Solutions. The trucks are running on a four-year operating lease and are backed up by Volvo Gold Service Contracts. “Thomas Hardie Commercials at Middlewich will be looking after the new FHs for us and we've always had good service from this company,” says Hadfield. “This way we know exactly where we are with fixed maintenance costs, especially now we're running Euro 6 engines.”

If you’re in the market for nearly new Volvo trucks, you’ll find a large selection on this site, including used Volvo FH and Volvo FM models.
