London-based Eden Caterers recently purchased three new IVECO Daily Blue Power vans with temperature-controlled bodies after a successful one-month trial. Each of the vans is an RDE (Real Driving Emissions) 2020 Ready Hi-Matic model with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes. They all have eight-speed Hi-Matic automatic transmissions with smoother gear shifting which IVECO says can reduce repair and maintenance costs by 10% vs. a standard manual transmission. Eden Caterers bought three other Daily vans 18 months ago, so with the most recent order its fleet is now comprised of two-thirds IVECO models.

    Efficient & Sustainable

“Our drivers have to deal with central London traffic on a daily basis, so optimum vehicle selection is paramount. These are the first vans we’ve had with an automatic gearbox and our experience with the demonstrator won us over. Our drivers are confident we now have the best vehicles on the market,” says Jeremy Redgewell, director of operations at Eden Caterers. “We opted for the special RDE 2020 Ready model because sustainability is at the top of our agenda as a business. These vehicles are the cleanest and most advanced diesel vans available on the market; we know restrictions in the city will only get tougher and this is a positive step in the right direction.”

    Other Features & Ongoing Support

Cool Freeze, a manufacturer and vehicle converter based in Manchester, turned the three Daily Blue Power vans into chiller models, with GAH refrigerated condenser units to help them keep their cool. Other features include satellite navigation, air-suspended driver’s seats, reversing cameras, overhead trays for extra storage in the cab, and PALFINGER tail lifts. Acorn Truck Sales, an IVECO dealer based in Crayford, will handle servicing and maintenance on the vehicles, which are “being kept in service until 2027 and expected to cover up to 10,000 miles a year,” IVECO says.

You’ll find hundreds of used IVECO trucks and vans for sale on TruckLocator, including a large selection of Daily models.
