Waste-To-Product Recycling Specialist Renewi Adds 200 New DAF CF Trucks To Its 2,400-Vehicle Fleet
Renewi, a waste recycling specialist based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, recently ordered 200 DAF CF trucks, including 193 rigids and seven tractor units. This follows an order for 250 DAF vehicles for Renewi that was fulfilled 18 months ago. The newest CFs will be based at the company’s branches in Belgium and the Netherlands, with some also operating in the larger Benelux region. The rigids will feature a mix of rear loader and compactor bodies, skip loader or hook-lift equipment, and cranes, while the tractors will be paired with tipper and walking floor trailers.
A Perfect Match
The two companies have been working together for years, with DAF trucks making up the vast majority of Renewi’s 2,400-vehicle fleet and Renewi offering its waste sorting services to DAF. Renewi has stuck with the DAF brand because of the innovative and environmentally friendly features it puts into its trucks, as well as to lower the fleet’s total cost of ownership. “As a company we believe it is very important to minimise the size of our own ‘ecological footprint,’” says Meinderdjan Botman, managing director of Renewi Commercial Waste in the Netherlands. “DAF’s trucks support our ambition to emit as few emissions as possible.”
