Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland recently announced that Christian Coolsaet will take over as managing director for outgoing MD Robert Grozdanovski, who will now serve as the firm’s senior vice president of sales for Europe Central East & East. Coolsaet has been with Volvo for more than 20 years and most recently served as managing director of Volvo Trucks Germany where he oversaw Volvo and Renault. He will officially take on his new role on 1 September at the Warwick headquarters of Volvo Group UK & Ireland, where he will also serve as sales manager for Volvo’s Europe South & West area.

    An Exciting Autumn Ahead

“I am very excited to return to the UK. In all those years I have always kept a soft spot for this market, and I am very much looking forward to working with the customers, retail network, and my team,” says Coolsaet. “We have a very exciting autumn ahead of us with the launch of our new heavy-duty truck range with four fantastic new trucks, which we very much look forward to present to customers in the UK & Ireland.”

Coolsaet is originally from Belgium and worked for a Belgian bus company in the UK before starting his career with Volvo Buses in 1997 and then moving over to Volvo Trucks in 2002. From there, he held several senior management positions in Ukraine, Romania, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and South Africa. He took up the role of managing director of Volvo Trucks Germany in 2015 and has held that position up until now.
