Rugged IVECO T-WAY Recognised With Red Dot Award For Product Design

IVECO introduced the T-WAY in early 2021 as a totally redesigned successor to the heavy-duty off-road vocational TRAKKER, with a laundry list of upgrades from better visibility to driver comfort enhancements and features to simplify repairs. The 2022 Red Dot Awards’ jury has rewarded IVECO’s design efforts, choosing the T-WAY as a recipient of a Red Dot Award in the Product Design category.

“We are very proud that the design of the IVECO T-WAY has been selected for this prestigious award,” says Marco Armigliato, head of industrial design at Iveco Group. “It is a design with the high ambition to raise the standards of robustness, reliability, efficiency, and driver-centricity, effectively combining function with style. This recognition comes on top of the coveted German Design Award for ‘Excellent Product Design’ bestowed by the German Design Council, further testifying to the IVECO T-WAY’s success in making its high design ambition a success.”

The T-WAY features a steel chassis to stand up to tough challenges of off-road work, and the 10-millimetre (0.39-inch)-thick frame and high-end suspension provide operators with torsional rigidity. IVECO combines the chassis’ robust engineering with an adaptable platform. IVECO offers the T-WAY in both rigid and articulated versions, with the choice of an air or mechanical suspension, and with partial-wheel or all-wheel drive. The partial-wheel-drive T-WAY has a Hi-Traction hydrostatic drive system that automatically provides extra hydraulic front-wheel traction as needed. IVECO says the truck’s flexible chassis lets body builders quickly adapt it for tipper, mixer, timber transport, gully cleaning, or crane and platform work, and more.

    Features For Drivers

IVECO designed the T-WAY’s cabin with a new control layout, providing key functions on the steering wheel for quick accessibility. And with features like a twilight sensor and a rain sensor, drivers enjoy many of the latest technological advancements. IVECO also includes a Connectivity Box as standard for telematics, remote fleet monitoring, and predictive maintenance. To easily access the latest control system for body builder interfaces and connectivity, the T-WAY features IVECO’s Hi-Mux electronic architecture. Driver assistance features like IVECO’s Hi-Cruise system, which increases the efficiency of the transmission to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, are also available. The Hi-Cruise system includes predictive gear shifting, predictive cruise control, and a downhill eco-roll function to take advantage of truck’s inertia.
