IVECO & Alpega Group To Partner On Decarbonisation Efforts

Lowering greenhouse gas emissions is top of mind for companies around the world, especially in the logistics industry where large diesel trucks, necessary to transport needed goods, are a prime culprit. Two industry-leading companies have joined forces to improve the sustainability of the industry. Italian transport vehicle manufacturer IVECO and transportation management software company Alpega Group recently announced their partnership on decarbonisation services and will extend their agreement offering promotional access to freight exchange companies Teleroute and Wtransnet, both part of the Alpega Group, for IVECO clients in Spain and Italy. Comprising more than 85,000 professionals, the group is the largest transport community in Europe. The freight exchanges connect operators in real-time to optimise routes and reduce empty kilometres to help haulers lower their carbon footprint.

    "A Firm Commitment"

"IVECO's decision to choose us as a strategic partner highlights our commitment to achieving a sustainable and efficient road freight transport ecosystem,” says Fabrice Douteaud, general manager freight exchange at Alpega Group. “Both companies have made a firm commitment to reducing their customers’ carbon footprint and thanks to this initiative will be able to make further progress towards achieving the goal of zero emissions.”

The partnership, called “the 2030 Agenda,” increases focus on sustainability and reducing cost pressures related to the development and use of electric vehicles. A key part in that push will be Alpega’s work on digitalisation and intelligent systems development.

“This partnership with Alpega, which fits within Iveco Group’s ESG strategy, confirms IVECO’s resolution to provide transport companies with digital services specifically designed to increase vehicle productivity, whilst reducing fuel consumption and improving business sustainability,” says Fabrizio Conicella, head of digital and advanced technologies at IVECO.
