Harry George Haulage Turns To Renault Trucks Once Again, Acquires New T520 6x2 Rigid

Livestock haulage specialist Harry George Haulage recently added a new Renault Trucks T520 6x2 rigid to its fleet for transporting cattle, sheep, and pigs across the UK. The Somerset-based company specified the truck with a sleeper cab and added a Plowman Atlas livestock container with three hydraulic lifting decks and a hydraulic lifting roof, plus variable floor heights to accommodate different animal types. The firm based its buying decision on the T520’s performance as well as experience working with nearby dealer A E George Commercials, a provider of Renault Trucks repairs, maintenance, and parts.

“We started out with three trucks, and, now, because we’ve built up a solid reputation, we’ve become increasingly busy and expanded the fleet to nine,” says Harry George, company director. “We run an all-Renault Trucks fleet. They just work extremely well in our operation. Importantly, our eight drivers are happy, and we don’t hear any complaints.”

    A Demonstrated Commitment

Sparks Commercial Services, a member of the Renault Trucks Network, supplied Harry George Haulage with the T520. George says he’s found Renault Trucks to be extremely reliable, and if issues do arise, Renault is able to quickly resolve them. George adds that acquiring a T520 indicates how highly his company prioritises animal welfare.

“Our investment in the latest vehicle technologies with the T520 and Plowman Atlas container demonstrates our commitment to delivering livestock safely and efficiently for our customers, giving them total peace of mind,” George says.

    The T520

Four-point cab air suspension, Alcoa Dura-Bright aluminium wheels, twin air horns, and front air suspension are a few standout features of Harry George Haulage’s T520. The truck also boasts a number of features for driver convenience and comfort, such as an “ultimate” upper bunk, a leather steering wheel and a luxury driver seat, the RoadPad+ onboard assistant, a 24-litre (0.84-cubic-foot) quiet fridge, and a multimedia touchscreen.

The T520 packs a wealth of safety features, as well, including a line-crossing warning, automatic emergency braking, hill start assistance, and optimised cruise control. Customers can also equip the truck with up to four cameras to improve operator visibility around the truck. A mechanical anti-intrusion locking system, meanwhile, gives drivers and passengers greater peace of mind when parked and at rest in the cab.
