Daf’s award-winning New Generation XD, XF, XG, and XG+ vocational truck range spans two-, three-, and four-axle tractors and rigids for construction, municipal, and other applications. All are built for durability, safety, superb driver visibility, ergonomic comfort, and easy body building including software support.

The company has now rounded out this lineup with new tandem-drive tractor units and rigids for off- and on-road use. The latest offerings are the New Generation XDC and XFC construction trucks and new Extra Robust versions of the XD and XF on-road vehicles. Daf also announced new single-drive, four-axle versions of the New Generation XD and XF, suitable for heavy container transport, sewer cleaning, and heavy waste collection.

    New Generation XDC & XFC

The new Daf XDC and XFC construction models boast ground clearance of up to 400 millimetres (15.7 inches) and an approach angle of 25 degrees for off-road performance. The trucks’ LED fog lights are recessed into the bumper for protection. Daf also offers a flexible lower step option. The New Generation XDC and XFC are available in 8x4 and 6x4 axle versions as well as in a new 4x2 configuration.

New XD & XF Extra Robust On-Road Brand-new to Daf’s New Generation range are the XD Extra Robust and XF Extra Robust models. Available in rigid and tractor configurations, the Extra Robust vehicles combine the high-strength cabs of the XDC and XFC with on-road chassis. The new trucks have a high-mounted bumper and a front underrun protection beam.

    Available Features

DAF offers a number of options and special features for its New Generation line, with availability depending on the model. Among these are double-drive, low-maintenance tandem axles with rear axle ratio options from 3.46:1 to 7.21:1. The 19-tonne (21-U.S.-ton) tandem axle comes with single reduction, leaf-spring suspension, and disc or drum brakes. The heavier 21- and 26-t (23- and 28.7-U.S.-t) units are available with single or hub reduction, disc brakes, and air suspension.

A hydraulic front-wheel drive option can add on-demand traction to select 4x2 Daf tractor models. The driver can turn on the maintenance-friendly PXP front-wheel drive system with a dashboard switch.

Daf’s New Generation vehicles are powered by PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines and a TraXon automated transmission. The transmission is available with off-road software, namely an anti-slip regulation (ASR)-off mode for slippery conditions and a Rock-Free function for rocking the truck loose when stuck.

Daf offers a variety of power take-offs (PTOs) for the gearbox and engine. The latter is available in a 1 o'clock position for heavy applications, an 11 o'clock orientation for lighter duty, and indirect PTO options including one mounted at the front of the engine for hook loading systems or tippers.

Driver visibility options include a kerb-view window, the DAF Digital Vision System, and DAF Corner View technology.
