Hargreaves Industrial Services, a division of Hargreaves Services plc, recently purchased 12 new IVECO Stralis Hi-Road tractor units, largely thanks to the close proximity of a 24-hour dealership offering overnight maintenance and service. The 44-tonne tractor units, supplied by NETV (North East Truck & Van), will join a fleet of 24 other heavy trucks. Hargreaves will couple them with Weightlifter tri-axle tipping trailers and primarily operate in Humberside.

The trucks also feature 11.1-litre Cursor 11 engines that produce 460 horsepower and 2,150 newton metres of torque and 12-speed automated transmissions. The engines use IVECO’s HI-SCR engine technology to achieve Euro VI emissions standards. Each of the Stralis Hi-Road models features a low roof for a total height below 3.7 metres, which IVECO says is “essential for meeting Hargreaves Industrial Services’ strict loading requirements.” They also have automatic rear door releases on the tipping trailers, in-cab telephones, and on-board weighing equipment.

    Improved Uptime & Reliable Service

“Reducing downtime is critical for our work, so being able to benefit from an IVECO dealership which is open 24 hours a day during the week, and right on our doorstep, sealed the deal,” says Trevor Holland, warehouse and distribution manager at Hargreaves Industrial Services. “Our drivers can now drop the trucks off in the evening, trusting fully that the team at NETV will have them ready to pick-up the next morning. The team were extremely helpful from start to finish. They understood how important it is for our trucks to be on the road when we need them most, and tailored the deal to include scheduled overnight maintenance.”

    IVECO Servicing Europe

NETV’s location in Immingham will handle all maintenance and servicing on the new Stralis trucks. Each model has a five-year IVECO Elements repair and maintenance package, which fits how the trucks will be used, accumulating roughly 50,000 kilometres per year and remaining in operation until 2024. IVECO points out that it has 25 Truck Stations in the United Kingdom and 250 total in Europe, which are “recognised for operating a highly efficient workshop dedicated to the specific needs of heavy truck fleets.” The stations have access to Parts Retail Inventory Management tools and other solutions to ensure crucial parts are always in stock for customers.

You will find a large selection of used IVECO trucks for sale at TruckLocator, including dozens of Stralis models.
