The Best Solutions is a family-owned haulier providing transport for cargo arriving at the port of Hull. The company recently celebrated its five-year anniversary by investing in a Mercedes-Benz Actros Edition 1, an exclusive model that’s one of only 35 available in the UK—and just 400 worldwide. The limited-edition Actros features a gloss black grille, darkened headlamp covers and rims, and a 15.6-litre, six-cylinder engine that delivers 460 kilowatts (625 horsepower). As you might guess, the Edition 1 also features a host of Mercedes-Benz technology, including MirrorCam, Active Brake Assist 5, and Predictive Powertrain Control.
From The Oldest To The Newest
A Mercedes-Benz Actros was also the very first vehicle The Best Solutions purchased for its fleet. “We needed a vehicle that would be affordable in terms of running costs as well as purchase price,” recalls TBS Transport Manager Olaf Dziewirz. And when they approached potential suppliers, The Best Solutions team found BLS Truck & Van’s sales executive, Chris Dyer, to be the most receptive. “The dealer was prepared to back us as a new startup and put together an excellent package, with a service contract that represented very good value for money,” says Dziewirz. “Chris has looked after us so well since then and has delivered all 23 of our Actros, including our fantastic new Edition 1, and has become an important friend to our business.”
Best Of The Lot
The Best Solutions handed the keys of the new Actros Edition 1 to its most experienced driver, Tadeusz ‘Ted’ Danielewski. “I drove the first Actros on the fleet and have always liked the trucks,” he says. “The highly specified, flat-floored cabs are great for drivers; we appreciate having so much storage space, and the really good beds. The Edition 1 is in another league altogether though—it’s stylish, incredibly comfortable, and offers all the power I could ever wish for.”
