Carr’s Flour Celebrates Anniversary With Custom Volvo FH Globetrotter XL

Carr’s Flour hit a major milestone, the 125th anniversary of its Maldon Mill, and celebrated in style with a new gold-liveried Volvo FH Globetrotter XL supplied by MC Truck & Bus. Carr’s Flour is a family-owned business that supplies bakeries and food manufacturers across the UK from its mills in Kirkcaldy, Silloth, and Maldon. The new gold FH joins a fleet of 10 trucks that include one Volvo FH, and FM, and an FE. Carr’s Flour plans to operate the new FH five to six days a week and log around 130,000 kilometres per year.

About The Volvo FH Globetrotter XL

The 6x2 tractor unit features a 500-horsepower (368-kilowatt) Volvo D13K Euro 6 engine and an I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission. The four-point suspension cab is outfitted with the Drive+ package with a full leather interior, swivelling passenger seat, a television, microwave, and a 33-litre fridge and freezer. The FH is also equipped with the I-Park Cool overnight air conditioning system, which allows drivers to select their sleeping temperature from dusk to dawn. The I-Park Cool system provides 1,000 watts of all-night cooling or a 2,500-watt blast of cool air for up to an hour for hot days and has zero impact on fuel consumption. The exterior is fitted with LED headlights, Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels, roof-mounted LED lights and air horns, and a wet kit and blower supplied by Gardner Denver.
