Scania recently delivered the first of 33 fire trucks that will go into operation with Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue over the next three years. Each truck features an Angloco Pumping Appliance superstructure on an 18-tonne Scania P 320 4x2 chassis, which also features an all-steel safety crew cab that can support up to six people along with their firefighting equipment.

“These appliances represent the latest generation of firefighting vehicles from Scania. Robustly constructed with safety as the top priority, our new P-series model was recently introduced following a comprehensive redesign,” says Scania Specialist Sales Manager (Fire and Airside) David Carter. “We wish the team at Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue every success as they commission their new fleet, and I am confident they will go on to provide the county with many years of excellent service.”

    Angloco Pumping Appliance

The Angloco Pumping Appliance has a 1,800-litre water tank and 100-litre foam tank. The Scania P 320’s two power take-offs run the main pump as well as the ultra-high pressure cutting extinguishing (UHPCE) system. The main pump produces 3,400 litres per minute at low pressure. Other features of the fire appliance include two 54-metre water hose reels, a separate reel for the UHPCE system, lockers, four ladders, and “a full complement of firefighting and rescue equipment, including specialist tools for road traffic collisions,” Scania adds.

“We are delighted to be manufacturing these new Scania-based appliances for Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service, and all three parties have built a great working relationship together to ensure the finished product is just what was expected,” says Alistair Brown, managing director of Angloco. “It’s also great that we are able to showcase our manufacture using these new-design Scanias in our new recently opened additional factory facility.”
